White Wednesday - Get Inspired With Containers and More!

The finds are out there!
  • Pottery Barn
  • Antique Mall
  • Macy's
  • Pottery Barn
  • Goodwill
  • Pier 1
  • Yard Sales
  • Thrift Stores
  • Estates Sales
  • The Container Store
  • Friend Swap Parties
  • Home Goods
  • TJ MAXX
  • Marshalls
Where do you find your favorite things?

I have had every pattern and color china under the sun. Loved them all. Blue willow, red transferware, fruit, flowers, spring, Christmas. I've mentioned many a time that I am decluttering and simplfying my style.
I do have seaglass, shells, apothcary jars, photo of family, friends and images of things I love. Colllections of feathers, favorite books.
But ever so slowly, when I'm out and about I find myself adding a piece or two to my collection of white serving pieces. Weeks go by and I won't see a thing. Then I'll be in Home Goods and there it is! A cool plate or a little bowl.

Asian grocery stores often have unique items. I use these white spoons to serve h'orderves!

Soup too, of course. I mix, I match, I add, I gift.
These spoons are great to tie on a jar of jelly, jam or salsa as a gift.

Pier 1 has a new line of serving sets for sampling.
They also sell individual mini dishes and bowls in white and clear glass.
Prices begin as low as $1.00.
These are great for individual sauces, varied salsas, and more.

So whether it be white ...

or glass...

or a container...

decorate with...
glee!

White Wednesday Around The House And In The Kitchen! White Recipes Two!

WHITE BEAN DIP by Giada De Laurentiis
Ingredients:
1 (15-ounce) can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
2 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/3 cup olive oil, plus 4 tablespoons
1/4 cup (loosely packed) fresh Italian parsley leaves
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper
6 pitas
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Place the beans, garlic, lemon juice, 1/3 cup olive oil, and parsley in the work bowl of a food processor. Pulse until the mixture is coarsely chopped. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Transfer the bean puree to a small bowl.
Cut each pita in half and then into 8 wedges. Arrange the pita wedges on a large baking sheet. Pour the remaining oil over the pitas. Toss and spread out the wedges evenly. Sprinkle with the oregano, salt, and pepper. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes, or until toasted and golden in color.
Serve the pita toasts warm or at room temperature alongside the bean puree.
It's not really white but anything with garlic....who cares!

White Wednesday....From a different point of view!

Flowers in the window box,
cat upon the sill,
sun shining in the sky
to do with as you will...

Spring brings hope and flowers too
to brighten any day
to show us we are not forgot
and cherished in a way.

Love is blind but oh so fine
it happens now and then,
when our time is spent and shared
between a special friend.

The birds they sit high in a tree
while you may listen to their song,
with spring you feast your eyes upon...
how can that be wrong?

Flowers in the window box,
cat upon the sill
sun shining in the sky
your day yet to fulfill.
