Planning My New Nest...The Presence Of Color or Not?

I have been looking for ideas for my new diggs ... when that time arrives and I can't decide whether I'll want my place to have the absence of color or the presence of a few accent colors and what they would be. I love pale turquoise, bits of lavender or lime green are fun. But I want everything clean, non fussy, simple.

My friend Karen is making stepping stones for herself and to sell so I said "why not" and found these! I'm not sure which ones I'll make because as you on line surfers might know .... there are so many many ideas out there and so very many creative people. I've seen them with round stones, glass, shells, impressed with ferns and on and on. I'm partial to beach glass so I think I might do something with that...but one never knows. When I visit family at the beach in NJ this summer and my parents in Florida - I plan to collect all sorts of beach stuff. I have yet to find 1 teeny piece of beach glass though. The search continues...

Spring Treasures are Everywhere!

On my way home from work on Friday I stopped at a local yard sale and found a vintage photo in a frame, 3 vintage prints and a Sea Urchin for $3.oo. All I had was a $10 dollar bill and 2 singles so the man sold them to me for $2.00. The sea urchin will look great with my sea/beach theme and spheres! Then, a friend of mine raises lambs and has the most adorable new lambs including a pair of black twins. No, I can't bring them home. Would I want to - OF COURSE! That and chickens and goats and donkeys and horses and cows. OH, and someone to clean up the poop! I took photographs of my home, yard and neighborhood including the donkey and horses across the street. I can watch them grazing for hours - tails swishing, ears twitching. Such a peaceful place to call home.

Birds of a feather....

Does anyone collect eggs or feathers? What new ideas do you have using them? I have eggs decorating various areas of my home - also sea glass and shells. I must recommend "Pure Sea Glass" for anyone who loves sea glass, the beach, great photography. Also the book "Sea Glass" by Anita Shreve...
