Flutter To

Tell me how you came to be,
your fluttery wings inside of me.
Up and down, you'd roll around.
Waiting for adventures found.

Patient baby, yes it's true.
Many nights, you slept them through.
You'd nurse and sigh, those bright blue eyes,
tiny hands could touch the sky.

Walking, new adventures still.
cuts and bruises, bumps and crashes,
911's - Matt, you were the busy son!

Teenage years were challenges more,
you struggled, stretched and finally soared.
                                                      Manhood has made changes true.
you see the world and I miss you.
I follow adventures as you go,
Nothing changes - I love you so.

At The Car Wash, Car Wash!

this is one of those
"yes, this really happened to me"
tales...
gorgeous day
I get the brilliant idea to treat my self
to a pre-birthday car wash
deluxe
the works
in I go

pretty normal right?
looks ok?
until I get a flat tire IN, IN
the car wash!
that's me - my car, flat tire, calling AAA
it seems there can be sharp areas on the metal
ramps the car rolls on and this particular one puntured my tire

the owner of the car wash reimbursed me the $200.oo for the tire, Mr. Tire replaced the tire after hauling  my car out of a precarious position, I was polite, patient, the atmosphere was calm. I'm sure God held everyone in good humor.
I am a very strong woman.

Thoughtful Thursday #2 Mom's with son's

first of all... these photos are not my son Matt.
Today is Matt's 29th birthday and he is in Korea. But he was a little blonde haired guy like this, bursting around this planet... getting into anything he could. Joy in my heart - oh yeah! From the moment he was laid accross my chest, I fell in love. He has an older brother, Todd - but this is Matt's day. The stitches, the bumps, the bruises, the birthday parties, sand between his toes and in his mouth too, reading stories, high school issues, just issues, Army life and deployment, girlfriends and friends, buying a home, traveling. Now my buddy is in Korea with his bestest girl Connie. 1 year away from us. He's happy. They're happy. Below are photos of Matt's mini visit to Japan and Korea with one photo of him...my 29 year old guy.
